Hone speaks to his girlfriend on the phone in reception, meets Meredith, and is told Michael will see him tomorrow. Meredith says Hone is just what Shortland Street needs. The next day Jill’s husband shows up to the clinic and punches Hone who he thinks slept with his wife.
Carrie argues with Michael in his office about being too easy on Chris and Hone, Michael says she “of all people should know better than to overreact in this kind of situation” and “there are a lot of people who wouldn’t give you a second chance”. Carrie threatens to resign if they stay, Michael says he’ll take what she said into account. He later meets with Hone, Chris and Carrie, gives Chris and Hone a warning but allows them to stay, and asks they all try to get along.
Michael and Jenny have dinner, Jenny is worried about Nick acting up, Michael mentions Rachel, his daughter, started acting up when she was 12. Michael agrees to talk to Nick over dinner sometime.
Nick and Kirsty take Jenny’s car to the movies without her permission. They witness Nick’s friend Simon get beat up by a gang outside a liquor store, breaking a window, then take Simon to the clinic. Nick tries to leave but Meredith notices he’s drunk and makes him stay. He and Kirsty escape while Meredith finds Michael to work on Simon’s hand. In the morning Jenny confronts Nick about coming home late, he convinces her he was an angel right before a cop shows up at their house.

Tom tries to talk to Stuart that night and suggests he should drop out of school to support Lisa and the baby, Stuart explains again he’s not the father and storms off. Marj confronts Gina for spreading that Hone slept with Jill, says it wasn’t him and Jill’s husband, overhearing their conversation, asks who it was.
