Episode Summary[]
Jenny freaks out at Nick after a cop explains what he was up to the previous night. They both yell and Nick storms out. Marj and Jenny discuss their wayward sons, Stuart and Nick. Jenny mentions Marj’s other son, Darryl, is a drug rep. Jenny confronts Kirsty about her night out with Nick, Kirsty explains what happened and talks up Nick as being responsible after the fight happened. Nick visits Simon at the clinic, and bumps into Jenny, who’s anger has subsided, and Michael, who invites him out on the boat sometime. Later Jenny asks Meredith about it all and Meredith tells her about Nick drunk driving. When Nick gets home Jenny surprises him with a visit from Michael.
Steve asks Alison to have dinner when she comes over to check him and Sam’s flat out. He teases Sam about getting Alison to say yes to dinner over him. Sam later tells him he swapped shifts and will be home for dinner, and convinces Steve to let him join with a date of his own.
Hone talks to Michael about struggling to find an affordable place to live. Michael suggests to Jenny she take him in. Jaki meets Hone. “Choice, another brown doctor!” but they’re briefly interrupted by Carrie before a rugby team arrives and causes mayhem in reception. Carrie deftly catches the rugby ball and storms off with it into the wards. Alison gets embarrassed when one of the players flirts with her. Carrie busts Jaki’s chops for taking a break amidst the chaos.
Steve has boxes of t-shirts delivered to the clinic to fob off to people for some extra cash, Marj is not happy with him. He later convinces Gina to sell them in the coffee shop. She tries to take a $10 commission but agrees to take a free t-shirt instead. Steve tries to sell his t-shirts to the group of rugby players but gets busted by Carrie “I would not be surprised to see you cooking hotdogs in the autoclave”. Carrie later threatens to report him to Michael if she catches him trying to sell goods to patients again.
Meredith mocks Chris while patching up his lip which was punched by Jill’s husband. Meredith’s mother calls her at the clinic. Meredith and Chris treat Arnie, a rugby player, who’s upset that his foot may be broken and stop him from playing. X-rays come back and Chris asks Meredith if he can deliver the bad news “it’d sound better coming from someone who speaks the same language”. Chris tells Arnie due to playing on a previous injury and injuring himself further, he won’t be able to play competitively again. Arnie freaks out and Chris fails to calm him down. Chris introduces Hone to Arnie later who is still grumpy, Hone makes a remark about Chris’s bedside manner. Meredith praises how Chris handled things and asks if he thinks she’s unsympathetic for not doing it herself, Chris says no but Meredith doesn’t believe him. She says Arnie’s situation does make her sad, and Chris mocks her “Sad? You?”. Meredith storms off but on the way out Chris kisses her.
