Gina Rossi-Dodds née Rossi was a fictional character on Shortland Street who first appeared in 1992. Portrayed by Josephine Davidson.
Biography[]
Gina was an eccentric italian woman, obsessed with falling in love and getting married. She worked at the coffee shop across the road from Shortland Street, and started the famous trolley rounds of food and beverages at the hospital. She married Dr. Leonard Dodds in late 1993.
First appearance[]
Gina first appeared in the second ever episode of Shortland Street, starting out trying to catch the eye of nurse Steve Mills, but to no avail.
Storylines[]
From Episode 0007, for about a week Gina tries to makes a romance work with Klaus Schmidl. He was a man from Germany who very quickly proposed to Gina but, when she decided she wanted to wait and take things slow, he revealed he only wanted to marry her so he could stay in New Zealand, devastating Gina.
