Shortland Street is a New Zealand prime-time soap opera centring on the fictitious Shortland Street Hospital. The show was first broadcast on TVNZ 2 on 25 May 1992 and is New Zealand's longest-running drama and soap opera. The soap opera is currently in its 33rd year.

In 2024, it was announced that the show would only air three times a week in 2025 due to budget cuts. The Shortland Street Finale aired on the 23rd December 2024, which saw a long term character die.

Shortland Street will return on the 10th February 2025, promos that have been released show that they'll be new faces in the hospital.
